We welcome back our former curate the Revd Jeremy Blunden, now Vicar of Holy Spirit, Clapham. Jeremy will be our guest preacher.
This team meets regularly to discuss how best we can care for one another in the church community, especially at times of illness, bereavement or other difficulty. Amongst our tasks are; visiting the sick, helping with follow-up to baptisms and funerals, looking out for newcomers, and bringing in events such as tea afternoons and coffee mornings. Please let us know about anyone who is ill, or anyone who has been missing from church for a long time.
Paddy Moon and Jean Clark.
We now have our own notice board space on the West wall. Check it out! Notice that the backing paper is banana paper - no trees were felled! We are pleased to report that all 50 of the water flush savers we obtained have been taken by members of the congregation (aside from some for the church loos!).
Please note; as a way of reducing paper waste we are experimenting in the church toilets with a hand-washing gel which dispenses with the need for either water or hand towels. Do try this and let us know what you think.
We are a bit short of teachers and helpers at the moment in the junior church. If you are interested, please speak to Nic Dax, Brenda Hurrell or one of the clergy. We need one teacher for the 13+ yrs, one for the 7-10yrs, and two helpers for the 3-6yrs.
Can you sing at all? You don't need to be a trained singer to join the
church choir. In fact, we will offer some training to get you going. There
are very few people who are genuinely tone-deaf, so most people can sing if they really want to. It doesn't matter if you can't read music - we can help with that too. Choir practice is every Friday evening at 7 pm (except school holidays), and the choir sings at the main church service on Sunday mornings at 10.00 am (and a few other occasions).
If you are interested in joining the choir, our director of music, Dennis
