During Lent we invite donations for the Bishop's Lent Call - details of the charities supported can be found here: http://www.southwark.anglican.org/lentcall/index.htm
One good way of supporting this is to come to the Lent Lunches, after church on Sundays March 8th and 22nd, and April 5th. Two or three course meals available for the price of your chosen donation. The ingredients and labour are given by parishioners: all money donated goes to the chosen charities. There is no need to book.
This year Ash Wednesday falls on 25th February. At 8pm that evening, we plan a Sung Eucharist including the traditional ceremony of imposition of ashes*. During the following 40 days of Lent our extra activities will include a study group shared with other churches and lunches to raise money for charity after selected Sunday services. Further details will be posted soon.
We have a 10am Eucharist on Christmas morning, with a theme of celebration of Christmas in the family of the church. This service will be suitable for all ages including young children.
At 4pm we shall be having an informal service based on the Moravian idea of Christingle - a decorated orange with a lighted candle, symbolising Christ, the Light of the World. This service is suitable for all children including the very young. There will be a collection in aid of the Children's Society.
Our Midnight Mass starts at 11:30 - a celebration of the Eucharist with carols and readings. (This service will not be suitable for very young children, who are more likely to enjoy our Christingle service on Christmas Eve or our Christmas Day Eucharist.)
